Creating a shared vision for Flin Flon

Flin Flon Imagining Together is a blueprint that will guide the City for future generations. The Plan will lay the foundation for future development of the community through a set of policies that address land use, transportation and parking, pedestrian mobility, and streetscape improvements.

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

The City of Flin Flon is located on Treaty Five lands, the original territories of the Ojibwe peoples and the Swampy Cree of Lake Winnipeg. We proudly acknowledge our role in the many relationships that make up our home and commit to a spirit of reconciliation and collaboration for the future.

The Story of Flin Flon

Flin Flon Story-01.jpg

Flin Flon’s origins can be traced back to the discovery of gold near Amisk Lake in 1910, which brought people to the area from all over the globe. This led to Hudson Bay Mining & Smelting (now Hudbay Minerals) to start its operations in the area, which continues to this day as a critical influence to the regional economy.
