THE EVOLUTION OF
DOWNTOWN WINNIPEG

True North Campus: Reimagining Portage Place

Creating a shared ecosystem
for a historic landmark in Downtown Winnipeg

The ambitious plan involves creating a diverse three-part campus that embraces the idea of a comprehensive healthcare centre, low barrier housing, a full-scale grocery store, neighbourhood services, and urban green spaces, all aimed at supporting and benefiting the urban fabric of Downtown Winnipeg.

Our Commitment to Reconciliation

We acknowledge that Portage Place is located on Treaty One Territory, the ancestral lands of the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline and Nehethowuk Nations, and the Homeland of the Red River Métis.

We respect the spirit of Treaties and remain committed to working in partnership with First Nations, Inuit and Métis people in the spirit of truth, reconciliation and collaboration. The future of Portage Place is an opportunity for sincere and meaningful engagement and to walk a path together for a shared tomorrow.

Supporting a Resilient and Healthy Downtown

True North believes in the future of Downtown Winnipeg. This redevelopment opportunity will contribute to the long-term health, safety and economic prosperity of the city through the creation of affordable, inclusive community spaces.
